Charlie the Monkey Charlie the Monkey

13/01/07
OK, so here we are in 2007 and raring to go with a new batch of songs for your listening pleasure! Hope you had a good Christmas and New Year? We all did in Monkey See Land (I had the pleasure of a brief drunken guest spot with East of Java at their New Years Eve gig at the Cauli, for which I would like to thank Dave and the band) and we're now all back into the swing of working on something new for the next Cauli gig on the 27th. Our usual "elections" provided us with these little gems:

Whistle for the Choir - The Fratellis
Mrs Robinson - The Lemonheads/ Simon & Garfunkel
I'm Not OK - My Chemical Romance
Country Girl - Primal Scream
and as a band choice....wait for it... Sweet Child o'Mine - Guns & Roses!

Well, you can't say we're not varied can you? From Simon & Garfunkel to My Chemical Romance! Where else but here eh? And yes, contrary to my last post, we finally gave in to public opinion with Sweet Child o'Mine, as it's probably easier just to play it than have to explain to at least one inhebriated rock dude at each gig that we don't actually know it (incredible as it may seem!) :-) All joking apart, we all secretly admitted to each other in a weak moment at rehersal last week that we quite liked it too really, so we're giving in to our sordid "RAWK N RAWL" (echo please Paul!) demons and getting on with it. :-)

On another tack, we're still posting more live rehersal vids on Youtube, which are getting lots of great comments from the kids in Cyberspace. We're getting people subscribing to our channel now too so maybe we might have some internet fans turning up at our gigs soon (although most of them live the length and breadth of everywhere so maybe I'm being a little optimistic). If you guys get a chance though, go to our videos page, pick any vid to get directed to the YouTube site and then click on "More from this User" to see a list of our posted songs. Remember, we'll be adding more soon too, so subscribe to my channel if you want automatic updates when we do.

Anyway, hope to see you all at the Cauli on the 27th!
