Is it really a month since I wrote last? Blimey, time really
flies! Well, we've not been idle since my last update. We've been working on the
new songs and we've played a couple of gigs too; The Cauli at the end of Jan
(our first 4th Saturday residency gig!) and, of course the Corbets Tey benefit
gig on Saturday night.
We had a great night at the Cauli but the Corbets Tey gig was a special one for us. Corbets Tey is a school for special needs children, which holds a very special place in the bands hearts, as Nicks son, Joe, attends the school and Paul (our soundman and Anthem lead guitar god) is hoping that his son, Brandon, will be able to go to the school from next term. We first played a benefit for the school last year, which was a big success, and Saturday's gig was even better with a packed crowd getting down to some of our latest songs and some old singalong favorites. The dancefloor was packed from the start and everyone had a great time, especially us! We even managed to get our old friend Ashton (ex lead singer of major label rock band 2 Tribes) out of retirement to sing on Boys Are Back In Town! :-) If you want to check out some of the songs from Saturday's gig (like Boys are Back, I Predict A Riot, Sweet Child O'Mine or Whistle for the Choir) go to the videos page, click on any song to take you to our Youtube channel and then click on "More From This User" and pick the vid you want. You can even subscribe to our channel so you get notified when we post new clips? How cool is that? And if you play guitar, you can even find out how I play some of our fave songs with my teaching clips. (You can't say we don't give you all a good service can you?) The best news of all though was that we managed to raise over £1000 for the school. All in all, a great nights work. We'd like to thank everyone that attended and all of the staff and people behind the scenes that made it possible. Hope to see you all again next year (if not sooner!). Anyway, onwards and upwards to the Cauli on the 23rd (and maybe a secret new song!). |
