Charlie the Monkey Charlie the Monkey

27/09/07
So, here we go again! Summer hols are over, the nights are drawing in, the weathers getting colder, but look on the (Mr?) bright side, at least we're back gigging again after our summer break. :-)

We've kicked off the new season with a few gigs this month and they've all been great. The break was obviously much needed as we're back with a new vigor and energy that we are taking into all of our gigs, and it really seems to be paying off! We started off at The Marne in Bishops Stortford where we played to a great, enthusiastic crowd who seemed to love every minute. The proverbial great time seemed to be had by all.

We followed that up with the Nockolds Summer Ball. Nockolds are a firm of solicitors in Stortford, one of whom is a friend of the band who asked us to play their party. We took up residence in a marquee in one of the partners back gardens (well, in her horses paddock to be more precise!) and got eveyone there in the party mood. We even had some special guests on stage with us to help us on a couple of songs (Nice vocals Kim and Dennis says that looking at you from behind is much nicer than his usual view of Terry!).

We rounded September off with our usual visit to the Cauli. We had a great responsive crowd who quickly got in to the set and danced the night away. We finished up with 3 encores, including Don't Look Back In Anger, which has been getting amazing reactions since we started playing it this month. After, we got a few great compliments from our regulars who said it was the best they'd ever seen us! Well, "onwards and upwards!" that's what we say. :-)

OK, we're hard at work on some new songs again for your delectation including: Can't Stop (RHCP), Take Her Back (Pigeon Detectives), Delivery (the new BabyShambles single - no, it's really good honestly!) and a couple still to be decided (I'm pushing for a rock version of Toxic by Britney but the lads aren't having it! :-)

Anyway, lots to keep you lot entertained so come on down and see us soon. Our next official gig is at the Nap on 20th October but we may have a charity gig on the 19th at the Curzon but this is still to be confirmed. We'll keep you posted.

By the way, if you have photos of us or yourselves at our gigs that you would like us to post on the site on the new photo pages, please send them in and we'll see what we can do!

Monkey See Y'all Soon!

Andy :-)
