It is with great sadness that I have to report the end of Monkey See as a band. Our December dates at the Cauliflower (2nd) and the Shark (10th) in Harlow will be our last. We would like to sincerely thank all of the fans and landlords that have supported us over the last nine and a half years that we have been a band. However, all good things must come to an end and we've come to a stage that we feel we have taken Monkey See as far as we can, so we're going our seperate ways and hopefully on to other things. Terry and Nick are looking forward to more summer weekends at their Caravan park (where they first met and the nucleus of Monkey See was born). I'm taking a year out to get married before hopefully looking for a new project in 2013 (with hopefully some occasional dep appearances with other bands when opportunities arise) and Dennis has a new life as frontman of Joker (formerly Double Trouble), so you'll all get to still see him doing his thing on a regular basis in 2012. We'd like to thank all of you that have ever come to see us or bothered to check the website over the years. Thanks too to all of the people that have given us the privilege of playing their weddings, special events or Christmas parties too. Our loyal fans have been great to us down the years and we've loved playing to you all. Deserving of a special mention are Policeman Paul, Dave and Wayne Bateman, Dawn and Tom, Joyce and John and John Murray who all always seem to be at our gigs, come hell or high water. We'd also like to especially thank Raj for his support over the years giving us our regular Cauliflower gigs which opened the doors for us in so many other venues. And of course, how could we forget to thank the ever present living legend that is Dancing Dave Ramsay! We'd also like to give huge thanks to the other occasional members of the Monkey See family that played with us and helped out over the years; Paul Gold (Bass), Stu Barnes (Keyboards), Paul Lewis from Anthem (soundman & occasional guitars), Bill Stewart (Bass, Guitars, Trombone), Wayne Westbury (Trumpet) & Mitch Brookes (Sax & Harmonica), Lisa Stewart (vocals) and Kim McDermott (vocals) as well as all of the other special guests too numerous to mention! And last, and by no means least, the 5th member of Monkey See, Gary Pooley, our resident sound man, roadie and all around nice fella, whose assistance we would have been truly lost without in the last few years. Finally, we'd like to give special thanks to our families and significant others that have given us so much patience and support over the years, especially Elaine, Gill, Debs, Kim and Joanne, who have had to put up with us rolling in at all hours, missing family functions, cutting short holidays, spending far too much money that we didn't have on equipment, lying to them about how much money we were spending on equipment :-) and just generally not being there while we were out living out our rock star fantasies . The biggest thanks must surely go to you, without whose help, patience and support Monkey See would never have been possible! We've had some amazing times and got some great memories and thankfully some of our performances will live on through our Youtube videos. We'll certainly miss playing for you all and hope that we'll see you all soon, either when we're playing in other bands or maybe standing next to you in a crowd somewhere watching someone else having all the fun on stage! THANKS AGAIN FOR A GREAT 10 YEARS!!! Andy, Dennis, Terry & Nick |
